LearningExpress Library Job & Career Accelerator is designed primarily for high school and college students looking for their first jobs and experienced workers looking to branch out, but anyone with a Georgia library card can use it.

Unfortunately, many people go into the job-hunting process without a clear sense of direction and are unsure about what positions they want, who they want to work for, or what sort of workplace they’d be a good fit for.

The Job & Career Accelerator aims to remedy this issue, allowing users to gain more insight into jobs they may enjoy doing. This makes it easier to find work you may actually enjoy instead of having to settle for a job you don’t like purely to get by.

So, how do you use the Job & Career Accelerator? It’s intended to be as simple and intuitive as possible, so all you have to do is access it using your library card and get searching!

Before anything else, we recommend creating a free account. This will allow you to save all of your data so that you don’t have to enter it again during future sessions. 

Then, take a look at the interest matcher. You’ll be given a sixty-question quiz asking you to rate certain tasks on a five-point scale, ranging from “strongly dislike” to “strongly like.” Submit the questionnaire, and you’ll be presented with a list of jobs that you’re most likely to enjoy and find fulfilling. 

From there, you can see what openings are available for these jobs, what they pay, and what will be expected of you as an employee.
